10 Things About Myself

1. I have a re-occuring nightmare about a snake being in my bed.  It's really hard to go back to sleep after that one.

2. My favorite holiday, without a doubt, is Thanksgiving.

3. The one thing I've never been self-conscious of is my feet.

4. My first impression of people is usually based off of the appearance of their hands and teeth.

5. I waste a lot of my life on Facebook, I'm a total creeper.

6. My favorite food is spaghetti, I could eat it every day. Easily.

7. My least favorite household chore is putting clean dishes away. Why? I have no idea, I just absolutely hate it.

8. I'm a sucker for reality shows of all kinds. I love them.

9. I have a thing about always driving 5mph over the speed limit. Even if I'm killing time and have no where to be, I speed just a little.

10. I love to color. You'd think I was 7 by the amount of Crayons and coloring books I have stashed in my room.

Another Blog

In my blogging class we are asked to interview a blogger we admire who's blog is similar to our own.  I chose Abi Martin, an OKC girl who blogs about similar things I aspire to blog about and she is awesome at it.  She has great style and has a way of writing about anything and making it interesting.  She writes a lot about photography but she also writes about daily life.  Check out her blog by clicking this link!

Elizabeth

This is Elizabeth.  She started babysitting me when I was 4 years old. I can't begin to tell you how much I looked up to her when I was growing up.

She is already the mother to a cute as can be 8 year old girl and is expecting Charles Jr. in April.  Elizabeth is as beautiful on the inside and she is on the outside. I loved taking some maternity pics for her! We took advantage of this beautiful spring weather. This pic was one of my favorites.

Dave Rhea - Guest Speaker

On Tuesday 2-28, Dave Rhea from The Journal Record (a great business newspaper for Oklahomans) came to talk to our class about blogging. He had a lot of great information to offer. Some of what I took is the following:

1. Blog consistently.  If you don't consistently post something you will lose the attention of your followers.  This tip really made me think that I should post more often.

2. Share your opinion. Don't be afraid to take a stand.  This to me is important, I am taking it in maybe a different way than Mr. Rhea may have meant.  I take it as not taking sides on controversial issues, yet I am taking this advice as sharing what I feel is important.

3. Love learning. I love this statement. No matter what you do in life this is important.  We live in a World that is constantly changing, no matter what you do for a living or just life in general, we must love learning new things to stay current.

Dave Rhea was an awesome guest and I took a lot from what he had to say.  To look at his work and the work of the other journalists at The Journal Record click here.

SO Excited

My boyfriend, Joel and I have been together for 3 years now.  2 1/2 years of that have been long distance.

This weekend, that all ends!!

It's one of those things I am so excited it's hard to focus on anything else.  All I can think about is this weekend and what is to follow.

This last 2 1/2 years has been difficult to say the least, we try to be together on the weekends but that doesn't always happen and it's hard not ever knowing where you will be on any given weekend.  When people mention plans on a weekend it's always like, hang on let me check my calendar.  It's hard to keep a relationship strong when you are together less than 2/3rds of the week most of the time.  We have learned so much about each other and how we work so well together.  Even though this time has been hard it is so worth it.

He graduated in December and got a job in OKC so that we can be together.  I am beyond excited for what is to come. It will be a definite change in lifestyle for the both of us but it will be awesome in every way.

Something we try to live by:

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."  1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Guest Speaker

On Tuesday in our Blogging class we had Dr. Hochenauer come to talk to us about blogging.  He had a lot of great advice to offer and I took a lot from his lecture.  Some of the various things I learned were:

1.  It is okay to go against the norm.  What you believe may or may not be what every one else believes but either way, it's your blog and you can talk about what ever "floats your boat."

2. You can't blog too much.

3. Do what you want with your blog.  This may sound similar to #1 but what I mean is that, if you want to make money do it, if you don't; don't. If you want to post something, do it.  It's your blog and your choices.

Dr. Hochenauer offered so much great information that it's hard to take just these things from it, but this is just what I thought was most influential.
